| INTRODUCTION |
GAYPHENE is a silica filled, phenol formaldehyde resin having outstanding anticorrosive qualities. GAYPHENE is designed to use a Bonding cement for acid proof Brick. GAYPHENE is resistant to almost all acids and most organic solvents. GAYPHENE gives outstanding service against pickling solution. GAYPHENE prove to be superior over many other types of cements as a bonding mortar for brick and work metals in refining industries due to its effective electrical insulating property. GAYPHENE is not recommended for strongly oxidizing acids. GAYPHENE can withstand a temperature up to 170°F. GAYPHENE proves to be the best acid proof cement used in Building bricks lining in continuous strip pickling lines. Low porosity, corrosion resistance, high adhesion and temperature, resistances are properties contributing to the success of GAYPHENE anticorrosive lining work. |

| CHEMICAL PROPERTIES |
GAYPHENE is resistant to :
(a) Practically all non-oxidizing acids, salts, and most organic solvents.
(b) Excellent resistance to sulphuric acid in concentration as high as 92% at room temperature.
(c) Not recommended for use with alkalies, alkaline salts, hydrofluoric acid and fluorides. |

| PREPARATION OF GAYPHENE MORTAR |
- Place desired amount of Gayphene liquid in a mixing pan.
- Add about 3 times of Gayphene powder (by weight) and mix thoroughly to form a smoother mortar. (Should be free lumps and entrapped air).
- Spread out mortar in thin layer. (Cement is ready for use).
- 3 to 5 pounds per batch can be used while in a workable condition.
- Remove Gayphene mortar from pan before another batch is mixed. Gayphene leaves no delay in construction because of its quick setting by chemical reaction.
